For those who wish to live on or purchase protected property, becoming a conservation buyer might be an ideal option. Conservation buyers fill a unique niche when the Conservancy finds a special property for which state grants are not available or funding is more difficult to secure. In these cases, an individual agrees to purchase
the property and protect it permanently with a conservation easement. Although this is just one of the conservation tools the Conservancy employs, it's an especially important one as property values increase and state funding sources for land conservation become more uncertain.

The South Fork Property offers conservation-minded buyers who want to leave a permanent legacy an opportunity to own a scenic 25-acre homeplace in Lincoln County.

  • Located within close driving distance of downtown Lincolnton
  • 25 beautiful, wooded acres, protected by Catawba Lands Conservancy
  • Near South Fork River and Carolina Thread Trail

The White Property offers conservation-minded buyers who want to leave a permanent legacy an opportunity to own a scenic 40-acre homeplace in Huntersville, North Carolina.

  • Located within close driving distance of Davidson and Charlotte, the White Property is located in Hunterville (Mecklenburg County) off Davidson-Concord Road southeast of Davidson.

  • Located within close driving distance of Spencer Mountain and Charlotte, the Moore Property is located in Stanley (Gaston County) off Upper Spencer Mountain Road along Hoyle Creek.
  • The Moore Property is 18 acres of mature hardwood forests, allowing for one home site.  The asking price is $500,000.
  • A thriving population of diverse plant life includes the regionally rare bigleaf magnolia, silverbell, bloodroot, and trillium.  The mature hardwood forests provide for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, owls, song and game birds, deer, and other native wildlife. 
  • In 1789, French botanist Andre Michaux visited the area that includes the Moore Property and discovered the bigleaf magnolia along the banks of Hoyle Creek.
