This page is an online resource for journalists to learn more about Catawba Lands Conservancy’s work to permanently protect land, water and wildlife habitat to enhance your quality of life. The Conservancy:

  • Protects in perpetuity more than 11,000 acres in Catawba, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg and Union counties.
  • Receives support from more than 1,200 individual supporters, 300 volunteers and 60 corporate partners.
  • Leverages each membership dollar to $10 to protect natural lands and water quality.
  • Employs a variety of methods to accomplish its work in voluntary land conservation, including receiving donations of land or conservation agreements and purchasing land or conservation agreements.
  • Is part of a statewide and national network of land trusts. North Carolina land trusts have conserved more than 255,000 acres in 1,300 places by partnering with private landowners and their communities.
