Girl Scouts Hornets’ Nest Council

This conservation easement ensures that The Dale Earnhardt Environmental Leadership Campus at Oak Springs, a regional destination for Girl Scouts, will always be surrounded by wilderness. A portion is designated a NC State Significant Natural Heritage Site – an area of special importance for rare species. Watershed protection is provided by two miles of forested buffer along the South Yadkin River.  A 2-mile segment of the Carolina Thread Trail offers outdoor enthusiasts scenic vistas of the river, hardwood forests, steep bluffs and open fields.
