The McAdenville Take-Out Dock is Temporarily Closed

Attention South Fork River Trail Canoe and Kayak Users:

The river take-out dock in McAdenville, N.C., located along the South Fork River Trail, was recently damaged due to the high water levels of the South Fork River. As a result, the take-out is not usable.

The gavel slope/take-out is intact, but this gavel take-out should only be used by experienced paddlers. At all times, use caution when paddling the river and use extreme caution when river levels are higher and swifter than normal. Please also be aware that the McAdenville Dam is near this dock and you should navigate around this area cautiously and exit the river before the dam.

We estimate that the dock will be fixed and usable again in mid-to-late summer. Catawba Lands Conservancy apologizes for any inconvenience.
