Event Details

**In compliance with North Carolina regulations and current CDC guidelines, Catawba Lands Conservancy and Carolina Thread Trail are taking the following steps and exercising additional precautions to ensure the safety of program participants, volunteers, and staff:

  • All programs outdoors
  • Limit program participant capacity. This program will be limited to 10 participants.
  • All staff using masks
  • Encouraging all participants to use masks and follow social distancing guidelines.

Join us to enjoy the beauty of the changing leaves with Sean Bloom, our on-staff Biologist, who will lead a fall nature hike at Laurel Hill Preserve. Laurel Hill is a wonderfully rich, 227-acre preserve and farm in Gaston County filled with mature alluvial and upland forests, idyllic streams, and wildlife. Come along to hear Sean share about the ecology native to Laurel Hill and the importance of conserving farmland, which is drastically decreasing in the Piedmont region. Make sure to bring your camera to capture this picturesque morning!

This program is free and exclusive to donors who are current members of the Spider Lily Circle, Sunflower Circle, Catawba Society, and Trailblazer Society of the Catawba Lands Conservancy or the Carolina Thread Trail. Click the following links to see Carolina Thread Trail’s donor levels and Catawba Lands Conservancy’s donor levels.

If you are not sure if your donation is up to date or if you are part of a donor level, email info@carolinathreadtrail.org or info@catawbalands.org.

Laurel Hill is privately owned and conserved by Catawba Lands Conservancy. A special thanks to the Nason family for inviting us onto their preserve for this Donor program!
