As one of our Signature Conservation Areas, the Spencer Mountain Conservation Area is full of truly special habitats. Redlair Preserve is one of those unique gems. Tucked away in beautiful Gaston County, NC. and chock-full of ecologically diverse hardwood forests and pristine creeks, this property is home to some rare and threatened plant species unique to the Piedmont. And since it was generously protected by the Rankin family through the Conservancy and NC Plant Conservation Program, these special habitats will be safe forever.
