Get your paddle muscles ready! Join us for a morning kayak trip along a section of Carolina Thread Trail blueway. Along the river we will catch a glimpse of two historic mills and hopefully spot a few blue herons, osprey, and other native wildlife. Members may choose to participate in this member kayak trip OR the October 5 member kayak trip, but not both!
This will be a moderate to intermediate paddle along a 5.5 mile stretch of the river from Spencer Mountain to McAden River Access. You must be able to swim to participate in this event. All gear will be provided.
***Should it rain on June 22, we will postpone this kayak trip to Saturday, June 29th.***
This paddle trip is only available to members of Catawba Lands Conservancy (CLC) and/or Carolina Thread Trail (CTT).
WHAT IS PROVIDED?
- River guide and CLC/CTT staff
- Free kayak rental, paddle, PFD
- Safety gear, first aid
WHAT TO BRING
- Full water bottle
- Water shoes or old sneakers
- Hat, sunscreen, sunshirt
- Bag lunch
