Hello everyone! My name is Kate Wilken and I just started as the Marketing Intern for the Catawba Lands Conservancy and Carolina Thread Trail. I am currently a Junior at UNC Charlotte, double majoring in Marketing Analytics and Environmental Studies. While I’m a Charlotte native, I didn’t start exploring all the greenways and trails in the area until around 2019. Once I saw the beautiful spaces Charlotte had to offer, I was hooked and my love for nature bloomed! I’m a big hiker and camper but still have lots of places on my bucket list to tick off.
Some of my indoor interests are my creative projects with fiber arts, painting, and graphic design. Connecting with the outdoors and all the people who enjoy it has opened me up to many amazing experiences and I am so excited to continue that through CLC and CTT. I’ll be working on digital communication with CLC and CTT and look forward to connecting with you all online and maybe on the trail too!
