Carolina Thread Trail Riverbend Farm Launch

The grand opening of the Riverbend Farm Trail and Canoe and Kayak Launch in Midland, N.C. has been postponed, however the trail and launch are now open to the public.

Explore the new natural surface trail or paddle the Rocky River Blueway from Pharr Family Preserve to the new Riverbend Farm location.

The Riverbend Farm Trail is the second access site for paddle recreation on the Rocky River in Cabarrus County. The Carolina Thread Trail opened its first launch in March 4.5 miles upriver at the Pharr Family Preserve Trail in Midland. Both launches are part of the Carolina Thread Trail’s emerging Rocky River Blueway, a planned 50-mile network of launches along the Rocky River.

The nearly 1-mile Riverbend Farm Trail provides easy grades and gentle slopes that are great for walking or running, and the canoe and kayak launch is a short walk from the trailhead. Along the new trail, the public can enjoy the sights and sounds of an operational farm, which runs a public pumpkin patch each October. Learn more.
