This preserve protects over 2 miles of shoreline on Lake Wylie, making it the longest undeveloped stretch of shoreline on the entire lake. Visitors can enjoy the lake views, hardwood forests and fields of wildflowers from a segment of the Carolina Thread Trail. The trail and preserve adjoins the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden creating 360-acres of conserved lands. The next time you’re on Lake Wylie, look for the American snout or falcate orangetip butterflies, or American robins or blue jays flying above and around the preserve and lake.
