Nov. 8 – Foothill Ecosystem Nature Hike at Crowders Mountain State Park

*Pre-registration is required for this free event

The 1,700 foot peak of the Pinnacle isn’t much by Appalachian standards, but our rolling hills and occasional peaks are how our region (the Piedmont, or the “foothills” in Latin) got its name. In fact, these high elevation zones in the Piedmont diversify our ecosystem and harbor many rare species of plants and wildlife. Join us for a more challenging hike up the Pinnacle Trail to Gaston County’s highest point, and learn about the local wildlife and ecology along the way.
