Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the Pop-Up Picnic has been postponed to 2021.

Come spread a blanket and enjoy a relaxing evening outside with family and friends in support of our local green spaces! This free community picnic is open to all and takes places just steps away from land protected by Catawba Lands Conservancy and the Briar Creek Greenway.

Enjoy your pre-ordered picnic basket meal, bring your own picnic meal or purchase dinner from one of the onsite food trucks. Enjoy live music and family activities. Wine and beer from Blue Blaze Brewing and Lenny Boy Brewing Co. will be available for purchase at the Picnic! (No outside alcohol is permitted at the Mint.)

The 4th annual Picnic celebrates the importance of conserving our local green spaces and and the connection between local farms and local food.  Proceeds benefits Catawba Lands Conservancy and the Carolina Thread Trail.

We need your help to host over 1,000 people! We can’t host this event without you! All volunteers will receive a Pop-Up Picnic t-shirt to wear on event and a dinner voucher to redeem at the food truck. Volunteers must be 16 years of age to help. Volunteers are required to attend an orientation.

We encourage alternative transportation — walk or ride your bike on the new Briar Creek Greenway! We will have bike racks for guests to use.

Parking is available, but limited. We expect the Mint parking lot to fill up and close within the first hour! Overflow parking is a short walk away at Select Physical Therapy, 2826 Randolph Rd, Charlotte, NC 28211.

What to Bring

  • Blankets and lawn chairs
  • Your own picnic meal and cooler if you did not pre-order a basket

What NOT to Bring

  • Outside alcohol
  • Tents, hammocks or umbrellas
  • Glass containers or bottles

We have four great silent auction items that have been generously donated to the Picnic! 100% of silent auction proceeds will benefit local conservation.

  1. Dinner for 10 catered by Francie Rudolph of FR Custom Catering.
    Hosted in your home, includes one passed hors d’oeuvre upon arrival, four (4) courses, customized menu, Francie onsite.
  2. Overnight retreat at Wild Hope Farm
  3. Two Final Round Wells Fargo Championship guest tickets. (April 29-May 5, 2019 at Quail Hollow Country Club)
  4. $500 gift card to Woo.

Bidding for silent auction items will be the traditional paper and pen style, so make sure to visit the silent auction tent and to place and check on your bids during the event!
