A section of the Carolina Thread Trail runs along the fields of Barrier Farms. They sell several farm products on their website, and also have some great recipes.

Hunter Farm offers year-round activities, including strawberry picking, hayrides, encounter with animals, and even summer camps and a community garden where you can grow your own produce.
2421 Ranlo-Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia, NC 28056
The Laurel Hill property is approximately 240 acres in Gaston County, most of which is permanently protected. Laurel Hill Preserve is part of the Spencer Mountain Conservation Area which adjoins over 1500 acres of protected beautiful hardwood forests, working farms, streams, ponds, and breathtaking views. They have an online store selling goats, eggs, flowers, and more. The Farm hosts events, but is not open for general visitors.

Home to a segment of the Carolina Thread Trail, this farm has hosted a pumpkin playground every October for the last 28 years.
