Apr. 17 – Foothills Nature Hike at Bakers Mountain Park Trail
*Pre-registration is required for this free program
Here’s a fun fact: the Piedmont, the name given to our region to refer to the rolling hills between the mountains and the coastal plain, derives from the Latin word pedemontium, meaning “at the foot of the mountains.” Our region is sometimes seen as the place in between, but the Piedmont hosts a diversity of ecosystems and wildlife unique to its own natural history. The peaks of our humble foothills tell an ancient geological and ecological story. Join us on this nature hike to experience it first hand.
This hike is offered for FREE by Catawba Lands Conservancy (CLC) and Carolina Thread Trail (CTT). If you’d like to support the work that we do to conserve land and build trails, consider making a donation on our website.
