Join us as we hike this beautiful segment of the Carolina Thread Trail that weaves past vernal pools, waterfalls, and unique rock outcrops of Forty Acre Rock Heritage Preserve. Our guide for this adventure will be John Ghent, South Carolina Master Naturalist and unofficial expert of this unique landmark. This preserve is home to many rare species of flora and fauna, including 17 species which are listed as federally threatened or endangered. After a picnic lunch (on us!), John will lead us on a 4 mile loop hike around the preserve. You do not want to miss this one!
This hike is only available to members of Catawba Lands Conservancy (CLC) and/or Carolina Thread Trail (CTT). Not a member? There’s still time! Become a CLC member or CTT member today.
