Bring your own bike and join Bret, Carolina Thread Trail’s Community Coordinator, to explore a different section of Thread Trail each month! Bret will offer a brief overview of the future plans for expansion of this trail segment and how it fits into the regional master plan for the Carolina Thread Trail network.
This segment of the Carolina Thread Trail follows the southern route of McAlpine Creek, and runs through unique floodplain and wetland habitats. Visitors may see great blue herons and other wetland bird species along this section of greenway. This is a mixed, paved surface and boardwalk greenway.
This bike ride is offered for FREE by Catawba Lands Conservancy (CLC) and Carolina Thread Trail (CTT).
What is provided?
- Carolina Thread Trail trip leader
- Safety gear, extra bike lights, and extra helmets
What should you bring?
- Your own bike (hybrid or mountain bike)
- Your own helmet
- Water bottle and snacks
- Bike lights (front and rear), if you have them
