Bring your own bike and join Bret, Carolina Thread Trail’s Director, to explore a different section of Thread Trail each month! Bret will offer a brief overview of the future plans for expansion of this trail segment and how it fits into the regional master plan for the Carolina Thread Trail network.
McMullen Creek Greenway runs through a unique floodplain and wetland habitat. The first documented Great Blue Heron rookery in Mecklenburg County was found nestled among the trees that now line the trail. The area also provides shelter to many other birds–including two colorful migratory species, the American Redstart and the Scarlet Tanager.
This bike ride is offered for FREE by Catawba Lands Conservancy (CLC) and Carolina Thread Trail (CTT).
