Jan. 24 – Foothills Nature Hike at Morrow Mountain State Park
*Pre-registration is required for this free program
Once rising over 20,000 feet, the humble peaks of the Uwharries are a testament to the power of geological time on our ancient landscape. For what they may lack in grandeur, the Uwharrie mountains of Morrow Mountain State Park make up for in their rich ecological texture and diversity. On this Foothills Nature Hike, we’ll discuss the unique ecology of our foothill ecosystem and learn about the region’s history, as well as discuss its opportunities for preservation and development into the future.
