Volunteers: Help Build a Trail at the Buffalo Creek Preserve

National Trails Day is June 2: Come out and help us build a trail!

The Carolina Thread Trail is hosting a volunteer workday in conjunction with National Trails Day on Saturday, June 2. The workday will be at Catawba Lands Conservancy’s Buffalo Creek Preserve in Mt. Pleasant, Cabarrus County.

We conserved the 393 acre Buffalo Creek Preserve in 2011. It has 169 acres of farmland, and the property protects clean water and wildlife habitats. There is a 1.2-mile segment of The Thread planned.

Our corporate partner, Wells Fargo, is supporting this effort by holding its Day of Caring in conjunction with National Trails Day. Its employees will volunteer and help recruit others to assist with this trail build. Wells Fargo will also sponsor lunch for volunteers.

There is a limited capacity for volunteers, so let us know today if you’d like to volunteer on June 2! Go to the Carolina Thread Trail website to sign up: http://www.carolinathreadtrail.org/get-involved/volunteer/
