$25,612 in Run For The Money Funds Awarded

Run For The Money was on April 21 and we had a great show of support, including staff who ran in the 5K race. Thanks to everyone – our runners, walkers and donors – who participated and donated in helping to raise funds for land conservation.

Through race winnings, financial contributions from donors and a 40 percent match from the Community Foundation of Gaston County, a $25,612 donation from the foundation was made to CLC on May 31!

CLC also thanks the Community Foundation of Gaston County for their support, matching donations, and sponsorship of this wonderful event each year!

“We appreciate the community and philanthropic support from the Community Foundation of Gaston County,” said Margaret Brantley, development director for CLC.  “It is a great partner in our efforts to permanently conserve the special places in our region. We also appreciate and thank all of the people who donated in support of local land conservation.”

Congratulations to all of our fantastic runners – including staff members – who “Ran For The Money!” Paul Mainwaring placed second overall, out of more than 1,300 runners/walkers, and earned $500 for CLC. Chris Page placed first in his age group and Melinda Yelton placed second. Together, these runners raised $1,250 for CLC! CLC thanks these runners for their support and congratulates them on their great effort. Here’s a list of our other supporters and staff members who also participated in the race on April 21!

Again, thank you for your support and donations!
