Grab your binoculars and get outside! Join us and our partners at CROWN (Charlotte Reconnecting Ourselves with Nature) for a morning of kid-friendly nature exploration in McAlpine Creek Park.

CROWN’s “I Spy….” program offers free, family-friendly nature walks in Mecklenburg County parks, nature preserves, trails, and greenways. These programs are designed to introduce participants of all ages to the many wonders of nature in and around the Charlotte region.

This hike is offered for FREE by Catawba Lands Conservancy (CLC) and Carolina Thread Trail (CTT) in partnership with CROWN . 

What is provided?

• A Carolina Thread Trail trip leader
• Information from CROWN on building your own backyard habitat
• Safety gear, first aid

What should you bring?

• Full water bottle
• Comfortable walking or hiking shoes
• Snacks
• Hat, sunscreen, bug spray
• Small daypack
• Optional items: camera, binoculars
