At the Catawba Lands Conservancy, protecting a piece of land is only the beginning. Often times it requires a lot of cutting, planting, and trail maintenance to restore the ecosystem to its most healthy and productive state, and to make it accessible to the public- and that’s where y’all come in!
Help us out at Seven Oaks Preserve home to a segment of the Carolina Thread Trail with our ongoing effort of eradicating privet and autumn olive. As a double whammy, we’ll use the cut invasives to cover the sandy beaches to prevent erosion. This program is open to adults and youth ages 13 and up with adult supervision, and requires a one mile walk to the job site and moderate labor to cut and carry away invasive shrubs. Many hands make light work, especially if you get them dirty!
