**In compliance with local municipal and current CDC guidelines, Catawba Lands Conservancy and Carolina Thread Trail are taking the following steps and exercising additional precautions to ensure the safety of program participants, volunteers, and staff:

• All programs outdoors
• Limit program capacity to 25 or fewer
• All staff using masks
• Encouraging all participants to use masks and socially distance

Carolina Thread Trail is partnering with Great Outdoor Provision Co. – Charlotte clean up a section of Little Sugar Creek behind Park Road Shopping Center. Hop in the creek with gaiters on or stick to the bank as we comb the floodplain for everything from plastic wrappers to truck tires. Picking up trash can save animals’ lives and enhance our public spaces. Many hands make light work– especially when you get them dirty!

The adjacent greenway, Little Sugar Creek Greenway, is a segment of the Thread Trail network and part of the 30-mile Cross Charlotte Trail project.

We’ll provide all the necessary tools and coordinate the group. Volunteers must be 13 years of age to participate and accompanied by an adult if under 18. Follow the Register button below and then click on the creek clean date for May 16 to sign up.
