This week a bipartisan bill was introduced in Congress that would fully fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), a source of federal money for land and water conservation. Having this fund fully appropriated would mean more money available for conservation projects at the national, state and local levels. As more and more of our natural lands disappear, it’s more important than ever to protect our clean water and save natural places. With the LWCF fully funded, more of those projects will be able to move forward.
Here in the North Carolina Piedmont, Catawba Lands Conservancy is working to save the places you love, even as the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region develops rapidly. We’re excited to see bipartisan support for this initiative, which could bring more money to local land and water conservation projects!
